The new academic year for the “Pedagogy and Psychology” educational program has begun with a particularly significant achievement — 176 students have been admitted to the first year. This figure reflects the growing interest of applicants in pedagogical and psychological education and demonstrates the dynamic development, relevance, and attractiveness of the educational program.
An orientation and organizational event was held for the new students, marking their first important introduction to the university, the Faculty, teaching staff, academic advisors, and their future professional environment.
The main purpose of the meeting was to help first-year students confidently adapt to university life, gain a comprehensive understanding of the educational process, and feel themselves part of a large academic and professional community.
During the event, students were introduced to the structure of the university and the Faculty of Pedagogy. They learned about the specific features of the “Pedagogy and Psychology” educational program, the organization of the learning process, educational infrastructure, and the opportunities available to them throughout their studies. The first-year students visited classrooms and became familiar with the spaces where they will study, communicate, conduct research, and gain their first professional experience.
Particular attention was paid to the content and opportunities offered by the educational program. Students were introduced to the development of professional competencies of future teachers and psychologists, practical training, research and project activities, as well as participation in conferences, competitions, and educational initiatives.
Modern training in pedagogy and psychology involves not only in-depth professional knowledge but also the development of critical thinking, communication skills, research culture, leadership qualities, social responsibility, and the ability to work effectively with different groups of children, adolescents, and adults.
From their very first year, students have the opportunity to gradually build their own professional trajectories, discover and develop their individual abilities, and actively participate in the university’s academic, social, cultural, and creative life.
An important part of the meeting was the introduction of the students to their academic group advisors. First-year students will be supported by senior lecturers and master’s degree holders N.U. Kuldasheva and S.B. Kalakhanova, as well as lecturers and master’s degree holders A.S. Balakhmet and Zh.K. Kuatova.
The academic advisors will accompany students throughout the initial stage of their university journey, helping them adapt to new academic requirements, navigate the educational process, establish effective communication with teachers and fellow students, and become actively involved in university life.
The role of academic advisors extends beyond organizational support. They help build cohesive academic communities, promote a culture of mutual respect and cooperation, encourage student initiative, and create conditions for personal and professional growth.
Thus, from the very first days of their studies, first-year students receive support not only from their teachers but also from mentors who will be there to guide them through their first steps in university life.
The Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy, G.A. Yergaliyeva, addressed the new students with welcoming remarks. She congratulated the first-year students on the beginning of a new stage in their lives and wished them academic success, memorable experiences, and professional achievements, emphasizing the importance of active and meaningful student life.
The Head of the “Pedagogy and Psychology” educational program, E.K. Abdiraimova, introduced the students to the distinctive features of the program, areas of professional training, and opportunities for academic, practical, and personal development.
Special emphasis was placed on the fact that the professions of teacher and psychologist require continuous development, a high level of responsibility, humanity, and the ability to understand people’s needs. Therefore, university years are not only a time to earn a degree but also a period of developing professional identity, values, and an individual pedagogical and psychological worldview.
The organizational and orientation week became an important starting point for the new cohort. First-year students became acquainted with the university, the Faculty, the educational program, and their mentors, received answers to important organizational questions, and took their first steps toward their future profession.
176 new students — 176 new stories, goals, ideas, and professional trajectories.
The “Pedagogy and Psychology” educational program continues to develop, expand opportunities for students, and build a professional community of future teachers and psychologists.
May the university years become a time of knowledge and discovery, academic inquiry and creativity, friendship and new opportunities for every first-year student — and, most importantly, a confident journey toward their chosen profession!
Welcome to university life! Welcome to the “Pedagogy and Psychology” educational program!
