"Cultural and Psychological Significance of Ornaments"

Within the framework of the project "National Values – the Foundation of Education," from February 24, 2025, to February 28, 2025, according to the plan of weekly events of the Faculty of Pedagogy "The Source of Education – National Values," lecturer of the Educational Program "Pedagogy and Psychology," Master A.A. Sisengali conducted a practical workshop on "Cultural and Psychological Significance of Ornaments" on February 26, 2025. All second-year students of the Educational Program "Pedagogy and Psychology" participated in the workshop. During the workshop, the lecturer provided a detailed account of the history of the origin and significance of Kazakh ornaments, their symbolic meaning, and their impact on the psychological state of a person. Students actively participated in discussions, analyzed various types of ornaments and their application in everyday life and art, and completed practical tasks on creating their own ornamental compositions. To deepen the immersion in the topic, art therapy elements were used: students danced, imitating the movements of ornaments, performed a scene illustrating legends related to ornaments, and worked with paints, creating their own interpretations of traditional patterns. The workshop concluded with a summary session where students shared their impressions and awareness of the deep connection between ornaments and national culture. Participants expressed gratitude to the lecturer for an informative and creative session, which helped them to take a fresh look at traditional art and its role in the modern world.
