On October 15, at 10.30 a.m., a round table on "My profession is my choice" was held in the Central Library to provide career guidance to teenagers.The event was attended by and shared valuable opinions with students of the city's schools: Duissenbayeva G. B., methodologist of the Marketing and career guidance department of the M.Utemisov West Kazakhstan University, Ismagulova Zh.S., Master's degree, senior lecturer, M.Utemisov West Kazakhstan University, Deputy Director of the Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University, PhD Kushumkhanov Zh.S., Deputy Director of the Career Center S.T. Bimukhambetova, specialist of the Resource Center for Youth Work in West Kazakhstan region G.Turemuratkyzy and students of the ZKU named after M. Utemisova educational programs "Pedagogy and Psychology" and "Social pedagogue and teaching assistant".
The students conducted an extensive career guidance consultation on the formula of choosing a profession, the rules of choosing a profession, mistakes in choosing a profession, and factors influencing the choice of a profession. A career guidance consultation and diagnostic work were carried out.
Students of grades 10-11 of Secondary school No. 19 received information from specialists on the following topics: "the main steps in choosing a profession", "the role of self-knowledge", "the main criteria for choosing a university", "sought-after professions in the labor market", "socially useful, personally worthy professions". Questions under discussion: whose opinion is more important when choosing a profession — parental or own? What should I do if the child is not interested in any field? What are the most common mistakes? Which of the interests and abilities is better to be guided by?
At the end of the event, the students came to the conclusion: "when choosing a profession, it is important to make decisions that meet the wishes of the heart and the demands of the time."
