West Kazakhstan University named after Makhambet Utemisov, in honor of the celebration of Higher Education Workers’ Day, organized large-scale sports competitions for faculty members, demonstrating the unity and solidarity of the academic community.
On October 2, 2024, at 14:00, the tournament’s grand opening took place, followed by football matches among men’s teams, which sparked real sporting excitement and competitive spirit. On October 9, 2024, the competitions continued: at 14:00, women’s volleyball matches and the traditional Kazakh game “Asyq atu” started, attracting the attention of all participants and spectators. The sports event concluded with an awards ceremony at 17:30, where the winners were honored.
The tournament results showcased the high level of sports preparedness among the faculty. In volleyball, the team composed of the Mathematics Faculty and the Administrative and Economic Division (AED) claimed victory, demonstrating excellent teamwork. In the football tournament, the Pedagogical Faculty team secured a confident win, while the third place was taken by the team from the Philology Faculty. In the “Asyq atu” competition, the Physics and Mathematics Faculty took first place, the AED team came in second, and the Pedagogical Faculty secured third place.
These sports events not only contributed to strengthening physical health but also fostered friendships among the faculty, highlighting the importance of sports in the academic environment.
