The tournament for toguz kumalak, dedicated to the memory of the outstanding scholar and educator Burchitov Otaraly Burchituly, will take place on October 10, 2024, in the sports hall of West Kazakhstan University. The mandate commission will begin its work on October 9 at 11:00 AM. The official opening of the tournament is scheduled for October 10 at 2:00 PM.
Burchitov Otaraly Burchituly is a renowned scholar, Doctor of Philological Sciences, and professor who has made an invaluable contribution to the development of national culture and, in particular, to the popularization of toguz kumalak. His long-term scientific activity was dedicated to the study of the Kazakh language, literature, and folk traditions, among which the ancient intellectual game of toguz kumalak holds a special place. As a passionate supporter of toguz kumalak, Burchitov actively contributed to its development as part of Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage. His work has become the foundation for many modern scientific studies in this field.
