On December 12, 2025, the Faculty of Pedagogy of M. Utemisov West Kazakhstan University hosted the official opening of several new specialized rooms designed to support students with special educational needs.
The newly opened rooms included:
- The Sensory Integration Room,
- The “Qoldau” Adaptive Motor Skills Room,
- The Montessori Room.
The main purpose of these rooms was to create conditions for the equal participation of students with special educational needs in the educational process and to support the development of their sensory, motor, cognitive, and emotional skills. University students gained the opportunity to develop practical skills in an environment close to real-life settings. Future specialists carried out practical tasks in sensory integration, adaptive motor therapy, speech therapy, and psychological correction directly within these rooms.
These rooms became an effective model of education by combining theory and practice. Students were able to develop their professional competencies in a specially equipped functional environment. In addition, students with special educational needs received qualified support from experienced professionals. Such an environment brought the university’s teacher training system closer to international standards of inclusive education.
As part of the project, the rooms were fully equipped with modern devices: sensory modules, motor therapy equipment, psychological relaxation zones, and speech therapy and diagnostic materials.
During the event, the following activities took place:
- the official opening ceremony;
- a full tour of the new facilities;
- presentation of an exhibition on inclusive education;
- a round table titled “The Role of Practical Environments in Developing Inclusive Competence of Future Teachers: Scientific Perspective and University Experience.”
University representatives noted that the new rooms provided significant opportunities for improving academic success, socialization, and the creative potential of students with special educational needs.
