Graduated from the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy of the Pedagogical Faculty of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute (1983) with a degree in Pedagogy and Psychology, postgraduate studies at the Institute of Preschool Education of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the USSR (1986).
1983, 1986-1988 - junior researcher at the Research Institute of Preschool Education of the Academy of Pedagogical Education of the USSR.
1988 - 1991 - Scientific Secretary of the Research Institute of Preschool Education of the Academy of Pedagogical Education of the USSR.
1992 - 1998 - Head of the Laboratory of Socio -Cultural Problems of Child Development of the Research Center for Family and Childhood of the Russian Academy of Education (Research Institute of Preschool Education of the Academy of Pedagogical Education of the USSR).
1995 – 2002, 2018 – up to now is the professor of Moscow City Pedagogical University.
1998 - 2003 - Director of the Institute of Preschool Education and Family Education of the Russian Academy of Education (Research Institute of Preschool Education of the Academy of Pedagogical Education of the USSR).

Head and author of the projects of developing preschool education "Paths" and "ENOTIK".
Worked as an expert consultant for the international TV show Sesame Street.
In the 1990s-2000s gg. under the direction of V.V. Davydov and V.T. Kudryavtsev on the basis of the school-laboratory "Elk Island" 368 гNo. For the first time in Moscow, a multi-stage system of developing education was built - from the preschool level to the senior classes. In 2016 - 2020 г. - scientific director of the network of experimental sites of the Federal Institute for the Development of Education, for the development of variant models of developing preschool education.
